Hospital Listing Policy

Which Canadian hospitals and healthcare facilities we list, when separate location pages make sense, and how we avoid duplicate, low-value or misleading pages.

Which Facilities May Be Listed

We may list acute-care hospitals, community hospitals, children’s hospitals, women’s hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, specialized hospitals, rural hospitals, health centres, urgent care centres and hospital campuses when the page has clear public navigation value.

We label facility type carefully and avoid calling every healthcare location a “hospital.” If a facility is a clinic, health centre, long-term care site or diagnostic centre, we describe it according to official source wording.

Location Pages Are Allowed When Useful

Same hospital name in different locations can have separate pages when users search by city, campus, neighbourhood, health region or branch. For example, a hospital network with multiple campuses may require separate pages because each campus has different entrances, phone routes, parking, departments or appointment instructions.

Duplicate policy

We do not keep duplicate pages for the same facility and same intent. We do keep separate pages for the same hospital network when the location, campus, city or service route is different.

Minimum Listing Requirements

  • Official name or commonly searched hospital name.
  • Province/territory and city/locality.
  • At least one official source link.
  • Address or clear location page if the hospital publishes it.
  • Contact or appointment route when available.
  • Disclaimer that users must verify urgent or clinical needs directly.

What We Exclude

  • Unverified businesses using hospital-like wording but no official facility evidence.
  • Pure reviews, complaint pages or reputation content with no practical location value.
  • Scraped doctor lists without official source verification.
  • Medical advice pages built around symptoms, diseases or treatments.
  • Pharmacy, insurance or product pages that are not hospital-location guides.

How We Handle Sponsored Content

Hospital listings are not sold as rankings. If advertising, sponsorship or a commercial relationship ever appears on the site, it must be clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial verification.
